Jammu : A delegation of Confederation of Indian Industry J&K State Council met RK Gupta, Director (PMKVY), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (GOI) in his office in Shram Shakti Bhawan, New Delhi where Rajesh Sharma, chairman, CII J&K shared a five point agenda for skill development in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh including revival of traditional industries, new courses in vocational training centres, setting up model career centres, infrastructure development and also job fairs and placement fairs.
Gupta talked about Ministry’s focus on skills and entrepreneurship development in J&K and Ladakh. The need was felt to work in more closely and collaborative way to generate more skilled work force and thus generate more employment.

A CII members delegation led by Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, also met Reema Prakash, joint secretary, MOFPI and discussed about various issues faced by the food processing industry in J&K and also shared the interventions required by the Government of India in the newly carved UTs of J&K and Ladakh in this sector.
The CII delegation later also called on Ram Mohan Mishra, AS & DC – MSME, Government of India and presented six point growth agenda for MSMEs in J&K and Ladakh. The agenda included `ease of doing business’, access to timely and affordable finance, infrastructure, market linkages, technology and human capital and skills development.
It was evident from all the three meetings and the Ministries are very positive and ready to work with industry for their betterment in J&K and Ladakh.
