Marathwada Skills Hub by CMIA inaugurated in Aurangabad to develop regional skilling ecosystem

Aurangabad : With an aim to create a single point of contact in the region for all types of skills development requirements, the chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) has established Marathwada skills hub. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is facilitating the Marathwada Skills Hub.

Marathwada Skills hub was inaugurated on 22nd March at CMIA office by Mr.B. R Shimple -Joint Director – Directorate of Vocational Education and Training Aurangabad.

CMIA President Mr. Prasad Kokil, former president Mr. Ashish Garde, Mr.Ravishankar Korgal – Advisor GIZ-IGVET project and Mr. Anand Pole – CMIA General Secretary were present on the occasion.

Mr. Kokil in his keynote address, explained about the skills hub activities and stressed on the importance of Industry – Institute linkages. Industry participation in upgrading the educational institutions, bridging the skill gap, exposure visits to Industry, experts from Industry visiting Institutes, Training the trainers by industry experts are the some of the activities under Marathwada Skills hub he explained.

After inaugurating the Marathwada skills Hub by CMIA, Mr.B. R Shimple – Joint Director – DVET Regional office Aurangabad, he said, everyone has a talent and Marathwada region has world class infrastructure and facilities and we can compete with anyone in the world.

GIZ-IGVET project advisory Mr. Ravishankar Korgal briefed about the objectives and focus areas of project and collaboration and support of CMIA in implementing the skill development models in Marathwada Region by establishing the Marathwada Skills Hub. He also said that Such models of skills Hubs are required at all Industry clusters, which will definitely reduce the skills
gap and develop skilled manpower at regional level.

After the inauguration ceremony, Trainers Training Programme and exposure visit was also organized for 35 Govt ITI Instructors from Aurangabad and Jalna districts.
