Micro, Small and Medium (MSME) to get Rs. 12,000 for imparting skill development training

Vellore : A total of 1,000 candidates will be given skills training during this financial year in Vellore district under the State government’s Amma Skill Training and Employment Scheme. As per the scheme, Micro, Small and Medium (MSME) enterprise will impart the required training to the youth. On completion of the training period, the government would reimburse an amount of Rs. 12,000 to the MSMEs that have imparted the training.

Skill training will be provided for six months to unemployed youth possessing engineering degree, polytechnic, diploma and ITI certificate or any other qualification and aged 18 to 25 years. They will also be provided with a stipend of Rs. 5,000 per month, according to a press release. The National Skills Development Corporation would assess the trained candidates and issued necessary certificates.

Employment

The MSMEs would employ the candidates, who have completed six months training, in their respective enterprises. They will pay a salary of Rs. 5,000 or the minimum wages as prescribed by laws, whichever is higher, to the candidates employed.

Of the 1,000 candidates who will be trained in Vellore district, 30 per cent would be reserved for women candidates.
