PMKVY led Skill Training Programme under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) concluded

Itanagar : The 2-month-long Skill Development and Capacity Building Training Programme on Automobile (Mechanics) for the youth of Kurung Kumey district under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) concluded at Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Polytechnic. The programme was designed and conducted by the Department of Automobile Engineering with industrial support from Maya Motors Pvt. Ltd. Itanagar.

Addressing the trainees on the valedictory function, Dr. J.P Pandey of the polytechnic stressed on developing skills of youths to make them employable. He advised the trainees to utilize the knowledge and skills they have gained during the training period for self-employment.

The training was imparted both on theoretical and practical aspects of automobile technology and service/maintenance. The trainees were imparted hands on practice on repairing of running vehicles at Maya Motors for six weeks, informed coordinator of the training Devarasiddappa, who also is HoD (I/c), AUE. The trainees were also made aware of various self employment opportunities in the automotive industry.

District Training Coordinator, Koloriang Bamang Chai urged the trainees use the skills as tool and opportunity to earn livelihood. Manager (HR) of Maya Motors K. Chetia offered employment for trainees as assistant mechanic at Maya Motors and expressed the desire to support such training programs in future also. Taba Tath, HoD I/c (TTM) also shared his experience and stressed on such training programs to make the local youth employable.
