SIDBI sponsored Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) in Dimapur

Dimapur : CAN Youth Dimapur in association with Green Club Zunheboto, has organized an Entrepreneur and Skill Development (ESDP) programme. The programme sponsored by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), from May 16 to 30 is underway at Sumi Hoho Ki Zunheboto town.

Vihuto Asumi, General Secretary, Sumi Hoho graced the inaugural as chief guest with resource person including S Pauminthang Gangte, Manager Dimapur, Branch( SIDBI) and Jenpu Rongmei, Chief Functionary, CAN Youth Dimapur.

Green Club Zunheboto, President Tavinto K sumi who chaired the programme also gave the introduction and said, “Without change there is no innovation, creativity or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have better opportunity to manage change that is inevitable.”

The Sumi Hoho general secretary, Vihuto Asumi in his address appreciated the effort of CAN youth Dimapur and Green Club Zunheboto for organizing the programme and urged the young entrepreneur to uphold hard work culture and dignity of labour. Emphasizing on schemes and funds mis-utilized by public leaders, he said, “for all citizen from grassroots to top should introspect and he had strong believe.” He expressed hope that this programme would bring to improvement in the minds of unemployed youth, to have a better understanding of dignity of labour. “Why depend on outsider for manual labour, when we need of a job,” he added. Giving examples of profession like haircutting and hairdressing, Vihuto Asumi called upon the youth of Zunheboto to participate and have effective use in near future.

In conclusion he quoted, “The improvement of learning is for two ends; first, our own increase of knowledge and secondly to enable us to deliver that knowledge to other.” He said that this society is ruined by us, perhaps collective responsibilities and noted unemployment will become a thing of the past if everybody inculcates work culture and dignity of labour.

S Pauminthang Gangte, Manager: Dimapur Branch (SIDBI) and Jenpu Rongmei, Chief Functionary, CAN Youth, Dimapur also spoke during the programme. Jenpu said this is first training organized apart from Dimapur and Kohima. The trainers for the week long programme are from Dimapur, Vinikali Awomi and Andy Imchen, who will be training 53 participants under Zunheboto district were present. Trainers highlighted the basic training skills and the programmed ended with prayer by Newtoli Chophy.
