Udalguri (Assam) – With a view to provide free of cost training to school drop outs and poor students of the Udalguri region, a skill development centre and an advanced coaching centre were opened in Udalguri town on Saturday.
The inaugural function to this effect was held on the premises of Udalguri BEd College which was attended by Minister Rihon Daimari, Tridip Daimari, Speaker of BTC Assembly, Sarat Borah, director of Rowta ITI centre, Chinaija Daimari, block coordinator of NRLM, DDUGKY, Udalguri, Sadhana Hojai, DC of Udalguri district, Ramanuj Hazarika, election officer, Ripen Daimari, MCLA of Bhairabkunda constituency, Jitendra Singh, commandant of 23 battalion of SSB stationed at Lalpool and Jatindra Kumar Sarma, retired principal of Udalguri HS school among many others. The meeting to this effect was anchored by Bishnu Sarmah, coordinator of Advanced Coaching Centre.
The training centre under the Udalguri Barefoot College would impart training to the intending candidates in motor driving, welding, tailoring by experts in those disciplines free of cost, informed Ismail Daimari, director of the college.
On the other hand, an advanced coaching centre for the budding talents of Udalguri would also be operational from October 2 at Udalguri town where poor students from IX to XII standard would be provided free coaching in mathematics, physics, chemistry and English by a group of expert subject teachers of the locality with a view to encourage them to face various competitive examinations at the State and the national level, informed Bishnu Sarmah.
