State Government created 5 more posts in Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA)

Bhubaneswar: The State Government has created five more posts in the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA). The posts include Private Secretary (OAS rank officer) to the OSDA Chairman Subrato Bagchi, Additional Private Secretary, senior stenographer and section officer. All the five persons would come from the Home Department.

The OSDA aimed at ensuring quality skill training standards, became operational with noted IT entrepreneur Subroto Bagchi assuming office as its head in May this year.

Bagchi, who is accorded the rank of a Cabinet Minister in the state with an annual salary of only Re 1, will guide, implement, coordinate and oversee all skill development programmes in the state.

Bagchi, co-founder of IT services company Mindtree, will report directly to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who had on April 29 in the Assembly announced his name as OSDA chief.

OSDA will bring convergence amongst skill development programmes across departments and create a momentum for thousands of youths of the State to receive skill training in a professional manner which will benefit families to secure better livelihood.
