Position: Academic Coordinator

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Postgraduate with B.Ed.
Experience: About 10 years of experience in a school academic leadership position (retired educators with required competence could also be considered)

Desired Profile:
— Candidates having experience and expertise in school improvement efforts, innovative academic initiatives, etc. would be preferred.
— Candidates who have research background and published research articles and having a strong orientation towards institutionalization of academic systems and processes would be preferred.

Skills required: 
— Effective communication skills (writing and speaking)
— Computer skills

Roles and Responsibilities: Coordinate, support and guide schools in the following areas and work towards their continuous improvement of academic standards and performance –
— Curriculum development, implementation, monitoring and review.
— Common academic planning and execution across the schools in Reliance Foundation Schools’ system in alignment with requirements of the affiliating boards.
— Develop and effectively implement appropriate assessment strategies and modules for schools aligning with the requirements of affiliating boards and their periodical review.
— Develop and implement Common Examination Scheme across the schools aligning with the requirements of affiliating boards.
— Develop and implement School Performance Analysis – academic and admin both; across the school system.
— Development and publishing common Text Books and Learning Resources for students and relevant teacher manuals.
— Define and review academic processes, structures and functions.
— Prepare school academic strategic plans and their implementation and periodical review.
— Develop and monitor performance management system for teachers
— Introduce innovative and creative teaching and learning practices
— Develop and publish important school documents – school diary, annual magazine, teachers/staff handbook, manuals etc.
— Support and coordinate review meetings of Principals and professional development programs and workshops for teachers and also serve as resource person for these
— Facilitate and lead schools’ participation in quality assurance programs, surveys, schools ranking/benchmarking opportunities, etc.
— Source and share best practices with the schools
— Conduct interschool competitions to help build healthy competitive spirit in students and teachers within RF schools
— Facilitate schools’ transition to digital teaching and learning environment
— Facilitate development of Resources Centers in the schools for creation and safe storage and display of teaching and learning resources (physical and e-resources)
— Improve the quality of textbooks and reference resources for students and teachers, including library resources and ensure their effective utilization
— Ensure compliance of education board (CBSE, State Board etc.) academic requirements
— Observe classes wherever needed and give feedback and suggestions for improvement.
— Orient teachers in all the schools in terms of subject matter expertise and pedagogical practices
— Extend support and guidance in all academic matters to all the schools.
— Inter – School events involving all Reliance Foundation Schools.
— Plan and implement Student Exchange Program
— Publish periodicals and journals involving articles, essays, contributions from school staff.
— Standardization of school calendars.
