Launch of Training of Trainers Programme in Electric Vehicle Service Lead Technician standard

New Delhi : Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), erstwhile DFID, in collaboration with Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) has launched a Training of Trainers (ToT) programme in Electric Vehicle domain for the newly developed Electric Vehicle Service Lead Technician (QP Code: ASC/Q1424) scheduled from 16th March – 20th April, 2021. The ToT programme is being conducted as a part of FCDO’s Skills for Job’s Technical Assistance programme and is being delivered in partnership with UK’s NPTC Group of Colleges.

This ToT programme on Electric Vehicles which is being delivered in a virtual mode has trainers from UK delivering both the domain and platform skills trainings to the participants. It involves live training sessions combined with assignments and assessments during the course of programme. The 35 participating trainees registered under the ToT programme carry vast experience in the automobile sector and are presently working in different roles. The pool of participants has mixed professional qualifications ranging from diploma holders to BE/B.Tech. graduates and also PhD holders. A few institutes these participants represent include ARAI, TATA Strive- Skill Development Centre, KIHRD, Medhavi Fundation, Quess Corp Ltd, Toyota, etc.

The launch event saw participation from over 80 participants which included dignitaries from Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and NPTC Group of Colleges, UK. The event also had trainers from UK’s NPTC Group of College and trainees who are undergoing the ToT programme.

Ms. Anu Gupta and Ms. Kaustubhi Harit from FCDO, Mr. Nikunj Sanghi and Mr. Arindam Lahiri from ASDC, Mr. Steve and the master trainers William Davies and Daniel Pritchard from NPTC Group of Colleges were the key speakers of the event who acknowledged sincere efforts of organising the ToT programme.

Some of the trainees also shared their experience of the ToT training so far. The event ended with a vote of thanks from FCDO.
