The Oscar in Hair & Beauty, 19th Signature Awards to be held on the 13th of September at Guwahati

Guwahati : The Signature Awards started in 1998 by Signature Training Center and Assam Aesthetic Association, Guwahati is India’s oldest award in beauty and enjoys a strong credibility in the Industry. It is gearing up for its 19th year and is attracting the attention of the hair and beauty industry worldwide. Organized by Assam Aesthetic Association and Signature Training Center, the Signature Awards felicitates the emerging stars in the field of makeup artistry and hair styling.

The 19th Signature Award scheduled on 13th September in Guwahati has received participation from makeup artists and stylists from all across India and outside of the country like Singapore and Malaysia. The award is preceded by 2 days seminars, competition and workshops on latest trends and methods in beauty and makeup.

The award celebrates women empowerment through beauty therapy sector as more and more women choose beauty therapy as a profession so as to earn their livelihood. The social arm of Signature Award also felicitates women personalities working in social service sector and involved in philanthropic activities. In previous years, ‘Signature Sarva Guna Sampannah Nari Award’ has recognized efforts of several social activists and women personalities like Ms. Irom Sharmila, who are making difference at ground level. Ms. Irom Sharmila was conferred with ‘Signature Sarva Guna Sampannah Nari Award’ in 2010 for her unwavering dedication and selfless sacrifice for the people of Manipur. In the 19th edition of Signature Awards, the selection committee has announced the ‘Signature Sarva Guna Sampannah Nari Award’ to Philanthropist Aruna Mukherjee from Guwahati. She will be conferred with the award on 13th September for her continuous and untiring efforts in the service of mankind.

Every year, over 10,000 beauticians, stylists and artists attend the show, interact with the industry leaders and learn from the seminars & workshops. In the 19th edition of Signature Award, the experts of international repute like Dr. Blossom Kochhar, Lata Khanchandani, Vaishali Shah, and other renowned artist of the industry conduct these seminars and workshops so as to train, guide and nurture the emerging talent. Over the years, the award has grown bigger and the 19th Signature Award has created a storm of interest in beauty industry as the number of entries within the country and outside is lining up heavily.

Individual artists, stylists and salons have enrolled for competing in 5 different categories for the award. Signature Award follows a comprehensive selection process as the first selection happens at district level where designated beauty academy and institutes select the candidates for their makeup work. Just like any beauty pageant award, the selected finalists are further trained with orientation programs, seminars and workshops by industry leaders. On the 13th the candidates will contest in the presence of ‘Observer Jury’ followed by showcasing their work on models, after which the final judgment will be announced by the ‘Master Jury’.

The ‘Observer Jury’ constitutes past years’ contestants and winners and the ‘Master Jury’ includes experts from beauty industry all over the world. Elucidating upon the comprehensive process of Signature Award, Ms. Vaishali Shah, Director, LTA School of Beauty said, “Signature Awards is a wonderful platform for stylists and artists in the field beauty and makeup.
