The Pacific Regional Industry Standards Advisory Committee (ISAC) for Resilience and Sustainable Energy will have their final meeting in Nadi, Fiji, next week (16-19 May) to endorse the new certificate I to IV programmes. The meeting is organised for the European Union Pacific Technical Vocational and Education Training (EU-PacTVET) project, which is jointly implemented by The University of the South Pacific (USP) and the Pacific Community (SPC).
The regional ISAC members will endorse the competency standards and skill sets for the qualifications in Resilience and Sustainable Energy, which will be recognized across the Pacific region. These new certificate levels I to IV qualifications will be delivered as part of the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector across the region. The qualifications will facilitate recognition of previous formal and informal learning in Resilience and Sustainable Energy in addition to providing structured formal learning and pathways to further learning.
SPC’s Educational Quality and Assessment Programme (EQAP) is collaborating with the EU-PacTVET project at this workshop to obtain endorsement for the development, accreditation and delivery of regional qualifications which will be listed on the Pacific Register of Qualifications and Standards.
Participants representing the education, climate change adaptation and sustainable energy sectors from 15 P-ACP countries and territories will attend: Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Tonga.
