Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has always been giving special emphasis on skill development, has stressed upon the need to have quality education and greater awareness.
During his radio address ‘Mann ki Baat’ on Sunday, Sharmila Dharpure from Mumbai brought up the issue of imbalance between industry and academia. She pointed that even after finishing education and obtaining degrees, students do not know the muck basic thing which is a great barrier for them in growth.
Responding to this, PM acknowledged that the issue is of much concern and needs to be addressed. He said the parents and guardians must spend quality time with wards discussing school activities and interact with the teachers too. So far focus has been on creation and spread of education system, he added.
Time is crucial for a shift to educational reforms, to focus on quality education; education budget a pointer towards this, PM Modi said. Skill Development is of vital importance too apart from education, he said while saying technology will play an important role in distance education too.
