Symbiosis Institute of Skill Development signed 4 MoUs for skill development

Pune : Symbiosis Institute of Skill Development (SISD) recently signed four MoUs including Telecom Sector Skill Council of India for telecom skills, Abhi Impact Solutions Pvt Ltd. for logistic and transport management skills, Rajasthan Beauty Institute for beauty and wellness skills and Ghulam Nabi Azad College, Barshitakli, Akola for teaching their students logistics, retail, marketing skills etc.

This MoU is aimed at increasing the employ-ability of the students and make them suitable to serve Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of this region, in the respective industries. On this occasion four courses were launched including Logistic and Transport Management, Basic Electronics, Auto Technician and Handset Repairing in association with respective industries.

Prof(Dr) S S Patil, Head, SISD & SCC, said that Symbiosis Skills University is the first university in India to impart skill based quality education in Indore (MP) and Pune. All the programmes focus on imparting skills by offering entrepreneurship development, soft skills training and structured internships along with class room theory training.

On this occasion, certificates were distributed to SCC & SISD students, who have successfully completed the Basic Bag Making, School Uniform Making and Logistics and Transport Management courses.

Prof Ashok Soman, Entrepreneurship and Corporate trainer delivered a keynote speech on how the gap between the industry and academia can be fulfilled by imparting skill based education.

Other dignitaries present at the MoU signing were Pradeep Jaswani, Consultant, Western Region, Telecom Sector Skill Council of India, Jitendra Joshi, MD and CEO, Abhi Impact, Dr Manoj Jadhav, Director, Ghulam Nabi Azad College, Barshitkali, Akola, Suvarna Googale, Proprietor, Rajasthan Beauty Institute, Jacob George, Head EXIM and Commercial Thermax, Girish Bihani, Director, Amit Warehousing Pvt. Ltd etc.
