Secretary, Union Ministry of Steel, Aruna Sundararajan expressed the hope that setting up of a skill development centre would set a new trend in imparting various skills in young people. The Steel Secretary inaugurated the “Skill Development Centre” and “Vizag Steel Museum” that showcases the live models of major production units of RINL, at Technical Training Institute at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Friday. Imparting good quality training through skill development programme plays a vital role in changing the face of the youth, she stated. Later, she visited the Skill Development Centre and interacted with the trainees.
RINL was the first PSE to sign an MoU with the National Skill Development Council(NSDC) and so far imparted training to several thousands of young people apart from a number of beneficiaries under CSR during 2015-16, Director (Personnel) G.B.S. Prasad said in his opening remarks. RINL has always been focusing on skill development and as part of its efforts to go from strength to strength, company CMD P. Madhusudan said.
