Itanagar: The month-long skill development and capacity building training programme on “Tourism and Hospitality” under the scheme of Border Area Development Programme (BADP) and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal VikasYojana (PMKVY) for the youths of Kurung Kumey district concluded at Department of Travel and Tourism Management (TTM) of Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic, here on May 4.
The objective of the programme which stated on April 4 was to train the youths in tourism and hospitality sector. During the training programme the students were taught both theory and practical in the related areas. The theory was conducted at the institute and most of the practical classes were conducted by Yomgam Tours & Travels, Itanagar.
Addressing the valedictory function held at seminar hall of RGGP, Taba Tath, Head of Department in-charge and course coordinator of Travel and Tourism Management highlighted the importance of the training programme. While appreciating all those who were associated with the training programme for their help and cooperation, Tath expected more such training programmes in near future and wished trainees for their bright future ahead.
Expressing satisfaction over successful conduct of training, Er. Bamang Chai, District Project Coordinator, assured to associate with RGGP for such training progmmes in near future. He also suggested the trainees to use the knowledge gained from the training in true sense in their home town and follow ‘each one teach one policy.’
D. Sedappa, principal in-charge also spoke on the occasion and suggested the trainees to utilize the knowledge they acquired during their training. The trainees also gave their feedback and requested the district coordinator to offer such opportunities to the youths in near future. Certificates were also distributed to the trainees.
