Assam Rifles to train repatriated Bru youths, paramilitary force’s ITI, Silchar will conduct skill training

Shillong (Meghalaya) : The Assam Rifles, which has been assigned the task of assisting the Union home ministry and the Mizoram government in training repatriated Bru youngsters in skills that will help them secure government jobs, has volunteered to open up 20% of its vacant posts for youths from the community.

A top official at the Assam Rifles headquarters told that the paramilitary force’s ITI institute at Silchar will conduct the skill development courses.

“Assam Rifles will run certified courses of two or three months for repatriated Bru youths. These courses will train them to be diesel operators, computer operators, carpenters, welders and electricians,” the officer said. “Assam Rifles will also conduct pre-recruitment training for young Brus and aid their selection in the force,” the officer said.
