Central Government to set 6 new ITIs in Bihar

It has been decided by the Central Government to set-up 6 new Industrial Training Institutes(ITIs) in Bihar. These institutes would come up at Buxar, Saran, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur. These institutes would be setup under National Skill Development Mission. These centres would train students in sectors like Automobile, Textile, Leather, Gem and Jewelry etc.

According to the Labour Resource Department in Bihar, the land for institutes is available in Buxar, Saran and Muzaffarpur and the construction would start soon. The land acquisition process would begin shortly at remaining 3 locations. The institutes at these 3 locations would start functioning from makeshift campuses.

In the last 4 years National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has trained 1.71 lakh and has placed more than 51,000 candidates in the state. Currently 23 NSDC empanelled training partners are providing skill training in the following sectors (Telecom, Auto and Auto Components, Security, IT and ITES, Transportation/Logistics, Tourism and Hospitality Services, Textiles & Clothing, Healthcare, Organized Retail, Education & Skill Development Services, Electronics and IT Hardware, Banking and Financial Services, Informal Sectors, Food Processing, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture, Building, Construction & Real Estate and Capital Goods) through 59 centres which are covering 19 districts across Bihar.
