Gurugram : Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) is India’s first Government Skill University established by the Government of Haryana to promote skill based education, has taken a lead in designing and implementing innovative National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) aligned diploma, advanced diploma, graduate degree and post graduate courses as per UGC & NSDA guidelines. In this connection, the university organised a three days workshop on preparation of Qualification File and NSQF alignment of courses in association with NITTTR Bhopal.The objective of the programme were to
1. help participants in developing concept of outcome based learning as per National Skill Qualification Framework.
2. develop participants to understand various components of Qualification File and hands on training to prepare a Qualification File.
3. help participants to be familiar with – NSQF, Outcome based Qualifications, Qualification Files and process of approval of QF.
4. provide an opportunity to the participants to develop at least one qualification file ready to be submitted to NSDA.
5. designing a course which is NSQF aligned and UGC compliant in dual education mode.
Sh Raj Nehru,Vice Chancellor sharing his international experience said that most of the countries in the world are reforming their qualifications and developing frameworks to relate these qualifications with each other as per their relevance to society and market. Government of India also notified a National Skill Qualification Framework with one of the objective to develop a set of qualification for each level based on outcome which are accepted across the nation. These qualifications are registered in national qualification register after the approval of National Skill Qualifications Committee (NSQC). As this is new concept and skill university has done an immense progress in the field. Our objective through such initiative is to support the system in developing and creating an skill infrastructure in the country.
Sharing the details about workshop Dean Academics Dr R S Rathore said that process for including a qualification in the NSQF involve the qualification development body submitting a completed Qualification File to NSDA for evaluation and approval by the NSQC. A Qualification File is a template designed to capture necessary information of a Qualification from the perspective of NSQF compliance. He futher added that the workshop has facilitated the participants to discuss the issues relating QF Mapping and NSQF alignment.
Three days of the workshop has provided an opportunity to the participants to develop one Qualification file of their course. The experts from SVSU and NITTTR, Bhopal involved to act as facilitators of the workshop.Prof R B Shivagunde, Prof R S Rijvi and Prof Nishith Dube from NITTTR Bhopal made the workshop as a live learning experience for the participants. The programme was attended by 28 participants representing from Central University of Haryana, NGFCET, Govt. ITI, Jhajhar, Women Govt. ITI, Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh Kanya Mahavidyalya, Kharkhoda, NIFTEM, Kundli, Community College, Kanya Mahavidyalya, 3HS India, Divisional Employment Exchange, Gurugram, District Employment Exchange, Nuh, HSDM, Govt. Polytechnics, Sonipat BPS Women University, Khanpur Kalan, Sonepat, JC Bose University, YMCA Faridabad, Govt. ITI Faridabad, Govt. Polytechnic, Jhajjar, G.I.T.I MAUJABAD, GURUGRAM and MPSSDEGB.
Dr Reetu Bajaj, Registrar also shared the vision of the university during the programme . Dr Raj Singh Antil facilitated the event. The programme was highly successful, the participants requested that more such programes should be organized in future.
