Jaipur: The Department of Skills, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Government of Rajasthan, is going to establish the Rajasthan Overseas Employment Facilitation Cell (ROEFC) to facilitate overseas employment opportunities for the state’s youth. The initiative aims to support aspiring candidates in securing safe and rewarding employment abroad.
The proposed ROEFC will provide guidance, facilitation, coordination, and support to youth and workers seeking overseas employment. It will also coordinate with relevant agencies on matters related to the welfare of migrant workers, safe migration, and overseas employment.
The initiative will be implemented through coordination between key central ministries, including the Ministries of External Affairs, Labour and Employment, Home Affairs, and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, along with state government departments such as Home, Labour, Industries, and the Department of Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs).
As part of the initiative, the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) will provide language training, soft skills development, and pre-departure orientation to equip candidates with the skills and knowledge required for overseas employment.
“Training plans are being formulated to align with overseas demand, and foreign language courses have been introduced in government colleges,” the official said.
The official further stated that a Skill India International Centre (SIIC) will be established at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Governance and Social Sciences, Jaipur. In addition, two SIICs will be set up in Jaipur and Bharatpur to create greater opportunities for Rajasthan’s youth to participate in the global job market.
The state also plans to modernise Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to meet the evolving requirements of modern industries. The upgradation of ITIs, expansion of apprenticeship programmes, and establishment of international skill centres are expected to enhance the employability and global competitiveness of the state’s workforce.
The initiative will also focus on equipping youth with future-ready skills in areas such as electronics, electric vehicle (EV) servicing, and digital technologies, in line with emerging industry demand.
According to the official, nearly 30,000 youth from Rajasthan travel overseas each year for employment. While Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain, remain preferred destinations, increasing numbers of young professionals are also exploring employment opportunities in Japan, Germany, Israel, Poland, Croatia, and other European countries.
The proposed initiative reflects Rajasthan’s focus on strengthening international workforce mobility by preparing youth with industry-relevant skills, language proficiency, and institutional support for overseas employment.
