Position: Project Associate- Training (Tribal Ashramshala)
Reporting to: Project Manager – Tribal Ashramshala
Location: Gadchiroli, Maharashtra
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Educational Qualification: Degree in Social Science or Social Work with minimum 3 years of experience in Child rights programming/gender and experience on working in school and community level child protection program
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience.Experience of trainings and capacity building, working with NGOs in remote areas
Skills required:
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure and organize and prioritize competing activities;
- Fluency in Marathi, can read, write and speak English
- Willingness to travel extensively to project location and field sites
- Good writing and facilitation skills
Knowledge:
- Track record in capacity building at community or district level projects
- Commitment to work with tribal communities and children in difficult to work areas
- Skills to manage relationships, communicate and develop rapport with people in rural and tribal communities
- Good understanding on child protection issues, gender and social exclusion
Key Accountability:
- Coordinate with technical partner agencies and develop training calendars for project implementation
- Monitor and assess on-ground training needs on MIS, dashboards and database maintenance
- Review training materials in local language and provide inputs on training material
- Ensure information about the trainings and relevant government orders is issued by the Project Office, District Collector’s Office and Divisional Office on time
- Develop a cadre of trained master trainers in the district and provide mentoring support in organising trainings for Ashramshalas that is covered under project as indirect reach
- Follow-up with all Ashramshala schools in the project areas for training need and cascading the training to other Ashramshalas
- Review and work closely with the technical agencies, NGOs, Childline, CWC and government departments to develop relevant Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material and its dissemination
- Facilitate trainings, workshops and participate in Ashramshala project reviews
- Conduct training assessment, review and document training reports
Stakeholders:
Relationship (within organisation) – AIM, Policy and Advocacy, Education, Child Protection, Regional offices, Project Office team at Tata Trusts
Relationship (Outside Organisation) – Tata Trusts implementation partners, Government Departments i.e. Tribal Development Department, Education, Health, Police and district officials along with partner organisations and technical agency engaged in Ashramshala project implantation
Job Description:
- Tata Trusts has signed an MOU with Tribal Development Department of Maharashtra to reduce violence against children in Ashramshalas by strengthening child protection redressal mechanisms in Maharashtra. This includes conducting a pilot of the project in Gadchiroli to develop child protection mechanisms to prevent and redress issue of violence against children.
- Reporting to the Project Manager – Tribal Ashramshala and working closely with project teams and partners, the Project Associate – Training (Tribal Ashamshala) shall ensure effective coordination and technical support for trainings as per the Project Implementation Plan (PIP).
- The primary responsibility of the Project Associate – Training (Tribal Ashamshala) is to ensure training plan is implemented as per the approved project implementation plan for School Management Committees (SMC), community groups, Ashramshala staff, children and other stakeholders. To work with technical support organisations to ensure resource materials for trainings are developed and standard trainings are implemented throughout the project area. This includes extensive travel to Ashramshalas and implementation sites.
