Hyderabad : Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University (JNTU) -Hyderabad will soon launch online certificate courses exclusively aimed at capacity building of faculty members employed in various engineering colleges in India.
The Vice-Chancellor of JNTU-Hyderabad, Professor A Venugopal on Thursday said that faculty development programmes will go a long way in improving technical education in the Country.
Speaking on the concluding day of the national level technical symposium ‘Convergence 2K17’ during the annual convention of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Venugopal lamented the declining quality of technical education and felt that there was an urgent need to take measures and improve the teaching standards for the benefit of students.
Director of Engineering staff College of India (ESCI), Dr. D. N. Reddy said that close to 28 professional societies including ISTE in the Country have been putting a lot of efforts to improve quality standards of technical education in the Country.
The last day of the symposium also witnesses distribution of awards, prizes and certificates to winners of the technical symposium and the expo ‘Open House 2K17’. Apart from winners and their family members, Dean and Heads of various departments of VNR-VJIT were present.
