Nagpur : Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur Univer-sity (RTMNU) has inked a pact with Smart Skill Tech Pvt Ltd with a view to provide skill-based training along with higher education to the students. Vice-chancellor of RTMNU Dr S P Kane and Vipin Bhatia of Smart Skill Tech Pvt Ltd signed the memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a function organised at Jal Gimi hall on Tuesday. Those prominently present on the occasion were pro vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole, BCUD Director Dr D K Agrawal, director of student welfare Dr Nihal Sheikh, Zubair of Smart Skill and PRO of RTMNU Dr Shyam Dhond.
As per the MoU, Smart Skill Tech Pvt Ltd will be imparting skill enhancement training to the conventional courses students .The training will be other than their ongoing course will make the student industry ready for work. The MoU will promote academic and skill- based employable co-operation.
The training will be initially started as a ‘Pilot Skill Development Project’ in 5 colleges of Nagpur and Wardha district. The programme will start from the month of August-2016. Smart Skill Tech Pvt Ltd will be starting 10 skill-based programme for training the students. This will include training in IT, logistics, retail, construction, tourism, management and other programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, VC Dr S P Kane said that the MoU will benefit the the students of conventional courses as they would be trained in skill-based training that will make them industry ready.
